Emergency Services Training Opportunity
Do you like hiking, camping, and saving lives? Then the Civil Air Patrol Ground Team is for you!!
For those of you interested in becoming Ground Team qualified in Emergency Services, Group 6 will be hosting a Field Training Exercise (FTX) on 11-13 March 2022. We will start Friday evening at Boca Raton Composite Squadron and then leave Saturday morning for Indiantown, FL. The exercise will end back at the squadron Sunday evening.
This training mission is an overnight weekend activity where you will be hiking and camping in the woods and learning search and rescue techniques that will help you saves lives. Members will train to qualify in Ground Team specialties to be eligible to participate in actual Air Force Emergency Services missions. This training is open to all CAP members who have completed their General Emergency Services (GES) rating. This can be accomplished by completing Level 1 training for senior members (or Curry for cadets) and then completing the online GES test. No other prior training is required!
Upon completion of this course (and basic training requirements), you will earn your ground team qualification and badge. This course is also open to current ground team members interested in refreshing their qualifications (Ground Team 2, Ground Team 1, Ground Team Leader, Ground Branch Director). Members may also apply for and train in many Base Staff specialties (MSA, MRO, MSO, PIO, etc).
