This is an aviation event, you will see many types of jobs offered in the aviation industry. We will have a booth to promote CAP.  Volunteer hours will be given!

 

Winter Encampment

Who: To be eligible to attend encampment, cadets must have completed the Curry Achievement and have been promoted to Cadet Airman (C/Amn) prior to application submission.

What: Winter Encampment

Encampments are week-long activities that serve to build a foundation for the cadets from which to build their Civil Air Patrol (CAP) experience.  These week-long events provide in-depth orientation to Civil Air Patrol and the United States Air Force.  First time cadets can expect to be challenged both mentally and physically during a busy and exciting week of hands on leadership development training, aerospace events and local site activities.  Cadets returning as staff will be challenged even further through the leadership roles they will fill and staff duties they will perform.  All cadets will have the opportunity to be introduced to the military, learn to overcome challenges, develop time-management skills, enhance their interpersonal skills and have a great time.

Piper Aircraft Manufacturing Plant

What: Tour of the Piper Aircraft Manufacturing Plant 

Who: Cadets & Seniors in good standing

Transportation:  We only have capacity for 9 cadets in the CAP van, so please register soon.

We will be meeting with the CAP  van at 9:45 am at:

Forms:  Cadet V. Valdivia will collect the following forms in advance during the meeting on Thursday, January 16th in preparation for the field trip the following week:

**Piper Tour Visitor Safety Policy** 

General Information:

  • Photo identification is required when signing in and will be held until completion of tour. 

  • All participants must be escorted at all times.

  • No photography of any kind is permitted on Piper Property.

  • The release or disclosure of any Piper Aircraft, Inc. proprietary information in any manner is strictly forbidden.

  • The walking tour (significant amount of walking, indoors and outdoors, including stairs) lasts approximately 2 hours. 

  • Children under the age of 10 are not permitted in the manufacturing areas. Children under 16 are required to be accompanied by an adult and must wear safety equipment at all times. 

  • Piper Aircraft, Inc. is committed to the safety and security of our employees and visitors.  All visitors to the facility must be accompanied by an escort at all times. Visitors must remain within the designated tour path and obey any instructions the tour guide may give them.

Safety Requirements:

  • Safety Glasses will be provided for the tour and must be worn in designated areas (No sunglasses are permitted to be worn inside the factory at any time.)

  • Hearing protection will also be provided and will be worn in high noise areas.

Dress Code:

  • Closed toe and heel shoes with heel height less than 1.5 inches.  We suggest comfortable shoes such as sneakers or other non-slip shoes. Guests not meeting the dress code for shoes may not enter the manufacturing area.  

 Company policy prohibits bringing the following into the factory:

  • Weapons of any kind, including firearms

  • Video Recording Devices

  • Animals 

  • Tobacco (Piper is a smoke free facility)

  • Backpacks

Please remember that Piper Aircraft, Inc. is a tobacco free facility.  No tobacco use of any kind is permitted.  

There is no charge for a tour of the facility.

Special Activities Selection Board

Who: 

Cadets

  • There are no grade (rank) level restrictions.

  • Must be on the Monthly Membership Listing at the time of the activity and a member in good standing.

  • Cadets 18 and over must have completed Cadet Protection Policy Training (CPPT).

  • All members must be safety compliant.

Senior Members

  • Must have completed (at a minimum) Level I training.

  • Must be on the Monthly Membership Listing at the time of the activity and a member in good standing.

  • Must have completed Cadet Protection Policy Training (CPPT).

  • Technician rating in Cadet Programs and completion of TLC is preferred.

  • All members must be safety compliant.

What: The Florida Special Activities Selection Board is an annual event intended to rank those cadets who are applying for a limited number of national summer activities, International Air Cadet Exchange program slots, and the NEW Legislative Day slots. Cadets nominated for Cadet of the Year are also interviewed as part of the selection process.  Cadets can expect to take an exam, appear before a selection board, participate in a uniform inspection, and participate in a physical fitness evaluation.
