**Piper Tour Visitor Safety Policy**
General Information:

Photo identification is required when signing in and will be held until completion of tour.

All participants must be escorted at all times.

No photography of any kind is permitted on Piper Property.

The release or disclosure of any Piper Aircraft, Inc. proprietary information in any manner is strictly forbidden.

The walking tour (significant amount of walking, indoors and outdoors, including stairs) lasts approximately 2 hours.

Children under the age of 10 are not permitted in the manufacturing areas. Children under 16 are required to be accompanied by an adult and must wear safety equipment at all times.

Piper Aircraft, Inc. is committed to the safety and security of our employees and visitors. All visitors to the facility must be accompanied by an escort at all times. Visitors must remain within the designated tour path and obey any instructions the tour guide may give them.

Safety Glasses will be provided for the tour and must be worn in designated areas (No sunglasses are permitted to be worn inside the factory at any time.)

Hearing protection will also be provided and will be worn in high noise areas.
Dress Code:

Closed toe and heel shoes with heel height less than 1.5 inches. We suggest comfortable shoes such as sneakers or other non-slip shoes. Guests not meeting the dress code for shoes may not enter the manufacturing area.

Must be on the Monthly Membership Listing at the time of the activity and a member in good standing.

Cadets 18 and over must have completed Cadet Protection Policy Training (CPPT).

What: The Florida Special Activities Selection Board is an annual event intended to rank those cadets who are applying for a limited number of national summer activities, International Air Cadet Exchange program slots, and the NEW Legislative Day slots. Cadets nominated for Cadet of the Year are also interviewed as part of the selection process. Cadets can expect to take an exam, appear before a selection board, participate in a uniform inspection, and participate in a physical fitness evaluation.

Who: Cadets in good standing-All participants must be able to reach, grab, pull their wight, climb, walk and run, as well as work at high levels above ground.

DESCRIPTION
The Florida Wing Cadet Competition is an annual event that cadet color guard teams compete in to represent the Florida Wing at the Southeast Region Cadet Competition. The event consist of many areas of competition, from military drill performances, to athletic challenges to academic evaluation. Competition rules are set at the national level.

Climb aboard a state-of-the-art flight simulator and try your skills as a pilot of an Airbus commercial jet.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity - Professional pilots and airline companies pay upwards of $1,500 per hour to fly these 20 million-dollar flight simulators. However, during this field trip, you only pay for lunch!

Learn what it takes to be a successful staff member at the next FLWG Encampment!
EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Cadets who attend FLA will find the instruction to greatly help them when performing leadership roles at their home squadrons and at other CAP activities. Serving on Encampment staff provides a perfect opportunity for cadets to practice the lessons learned from the FLA. Cadets who intend on applying for Encampment staff are highly encouraged to attend the FLA in order to begin developing their leadership abilities.
If you plan on applying to staff an encampment, then you need to make every effort to attend this activity! Our intention is to help train up the best group of leaders in the nation! You will learn the lessons needed to serve at any CAP event and this will weigh heavily when staff are being chosen for the next encampment.

FLWG Conference and Annual Awards Banquet

SAVE THE DATE!!!
We’re pleased to announce that the 2020 Florida Wing Conference and Annual Awards Banquet will be held on 21-24 May 2020 at the Tampa Marriott Water Street located in beautiful downtown Tampa.
Pre-Conference courses will be held on Thursday and Friday at the hotel, as well as alternative locations with community partners to include a possible field day for cadets on Friday. The main conference and awards banquet for cadets and senior members will be held on Saturday.
The conference registration fee and other details will be announced in the coming months.
The Conference Committee has been working diligently to make this an exciting and worthwhile Conference, with many activities and training opportunities for our members. If you are interested in helping or being part of the Conference Committee, please contact the Conference Coordinator, Maj Daia Jung, at djung@flwg.gov.

EVENT DESCRIPTION
Encampments are week long activities that serve to build a foundation for cadets from which to build their Civil Air Patrol experience. These week long events provide in-depth orientation to Civil Air Patrol and the United States Air Force. First time cadets can expect to be challenged both mentally and physically during a busy and exciting week of hands on leadership development training, aerospace events, and local site activities. Cadets returning as staff will be challenged even further through the leadership roles they will fill and staff duties they will perform. All cadets will have the opportunity to be introduced to the military, learn to overcome challenges, develop time-management skills, enhance their interpersonal skills, and have a great time.
Eligibility
To be eligible to attend encampment, cadets must have completed the Curry Achievement and have been promoted to Cadet Airman (C/Amn) prior to application submission. Staff applicants must have earned the Wright Brothers Award (C/SSgt) and have it posted to e-services prior to application submission.
WHEN: July 16 - July 25, 2020
STAFF POSITIONS: The Encampment Commander is currently accepting applications for the staff positions.
First time encampment cadets must submit CAPF 31, 60-81 the following to Deputy Commander at clambert@flwg.us
Due dates:
For staff - by April 23, 2020, 11:00 pm.
For students - by May 28, 2020, 11:00 pm.
